FOUNDATIONAL STAGE
Pre-Primary – Grade 2
Ages 3–8
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, our Foundational Stage provides children aged 3 to 8 with a safe, joyful and personalised environment where they can discover, play and grow with confidence.
At the National Centre for Excellence, we believe that the early years lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Through a play-based, research-backed approach, we nurture curiosity, creativity, communication and confidence while supporting every child's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Our goal is to help every learner build strong foundations, develop a love for learning and thrive both inside and beyond the classroom.

WHY IT BENEFITS YOUR CHILD
Better Retention
Children remember more when they actively experience learning rather than simply memorising facts. Through engaging, hands-on activities, storytelling, exploration and guided play, concepts become meaningful, helping children build deeper understanding, stronger memory and greater confidence in applying what they learn.
Social & Problem-Solving
Collaborative activities encourage children to communicate, share ideas and work together while developing empathy and respect for others. Through age-appropriate challenges and creative problem-solving, they learn to think independently, make decisions with confidence and adapt to new situations with resilience.
OUR APPROACH
At NCFE, we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, encouraged to explore, and free to discover at their own pace. Guided by the research-based Early Years Learning Framework, our play-based approach nurtures every aspect of a child's development—physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative—building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
LANGUAGE
Natural Language Progression
Every child develops language naturally through meaningful conversations, stories and everyday experiences. Following our ‘Listen – Speak – Read – Write’ approach, we first strengthen listening and communication skills before introducing reading and writing, helping children build confidence, literacy and a lifelong love for learning.
ACTIVITIES
Learning by Doing
Children learn most effectively through hands-on experiences. Storytelling, music, movement, sensory play, art, water play, nature exploration and imaginative activities encourage curiosity, creativity and problem-solving while making every learning experience joyful, meaningful and memorable.
