Child Development and Values

A few months ago, during a classroom observation in Grade 4, I noticed a small group of students struggling to complete a science experiment. One of the students, noticing his friend was about to give up, calmly paused his own work, guided his friend step by step, and encouraged him until he succeeded. That moment struck me deeply — it wasn’t just about teamwork; it was about patience, empathy, and responsibility in action. Here was a real-life example of values in action, far beyond any textbook lesson.

This incident reminded me that child development is a journey that encompasses far more than academics. Intellectual growth is important, but moral and social development shapes who children become as human beings. Qualities like honesty, kindness, perseverance, and respect are cultivated through daily experiences — not just formal lessons.

At NCFE CVR, we strive to create learning experiences that nurture both knowledge and character. From interactive classroom activities to co-curricular programs, and even small moments in assemblies or playgrounds, every opportunity is a chance to reinforce values.

Parents, too, are integral partners in this journey. Children observe, imitate, and internalise the behaviours they see at home. A little encouragement, consistent guidance, and modelling the right values can profoundly shape their character.

As educators and parents, our role is to ensure children grow not just to be academically capable, but also compassionate, responsible, and confident individuals. It’s these small, everyday acts — helping a friend, showing patience, or standing up for what is right — that truly define their growth.

Because at the end of the day, education is not only about teaching facts, but about nurturing hearts that will make the world a better place.

REGALE- SUSTAINASPHERE

The vibrant spirit of art, rhythm, and creativity came alive as our school recently hosted its much-anticipated cultural fest Regale on the 14th and 15th of July 2025. Held over two exhilarating days, the event transformed the school into a hub of colour, sound, and youthful energy. With enthusiastic participation from students across all grades, the fest was a perfect platform to celebrate talent and teamwork. Every event reflected the excitement and dedication that went into making the event a grand success.

This year’s theme, "Sustainasphere", was inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There was a wide range of events that catered to every interest. From music and dance to drama, fashion, and fine arts, the fest offered something for everyone. Students showcased their talents in solo and group singing, instrumental performances, fashion designing and many more. The highlight events were Battle of the Bands, Group Dance, Mime, and the Fashion Show which drew massive attention and applause.

The battle of bands held on Day 1, drew large crowd and loud cheers as all the four house bands took to the stage powerful covers and captivating showcase of instruments with great coordination and energy. From Indie rock to fusion and classical blends, the variety of genres kept the audience on their toes. The bands were judged by our school music teachers Archana ma’am and Stanley sir.

Another major event was the group dance, where the four teams set the stage ablaze with their synchronized moves and energetic performances. Each group brought something unique, representing the given theme-be it classical grace, folk vibrancy, or the bold beats of hip-hop. The costumes and strong thematic choreography showcased the dancers' commitment and the hours of hard work.

In contrast to the music and movement, the mime delivered powerful messages without uttering a single word. Using silence, expression, and movement, their ability to convey deep messages through facial expressions and body language captivated the audience extremely well.

‘Spotlight’ - a stage dedicated entirely to solo singing and dance performances. True to its name, the event shone a light on individual talent.

The much-anticipated fashion show which was the last event of the fest, brought glamour, creativity and style to the ramp. With themes ranging from Nebula Dreams to Starry Night, students confidently walked down the runway in stunning outfits, all of which were designed by the extremely talented designers from the respective houses. The blend of fashion and attitude created an unforgettable performance showcasing elegance with originality.

Regale ’25 was more than a series of competitions and events—it was an opportunity for teamwork, expression and unity. It brought out the best in every student, whether they were on stage, behind the scenes, or cheering from the audience.

Grandparents Day

The NCFE Pre-Primary corridors echoed with cheer, music, and magical memories as we celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 26th July — a day straight from the heart!

Our tiny tots kicked off the event with a delightful song and dance performance, specially prepared for their beloved grandparents. Their smiles said it all — hearts were touched, and eyes sparkled with pride!

Next, little hands joined older ones to create beautiful handmade photo frames — a sweet token of love to take home and cherish forever. The fun didn’t stop there!

Laughter rang out during the game sessions, where our ever-young grandparents showed off their playful spirit. Whether it was musical chairs or memory games, they were all in it to win it — and win hearts, they did!

The celebration ended on a high note with the Talent Show, where our grandparents amazed us with singing, dancing, poetry, and stories from the heart. What a treat!

It was more than just a celebration — it was a beautiful bridge between generations.

Celebrating Grace and Legacy: “Gorgeous Grandmas” Ramp Walk

On the 23rd of July 2025, NCFE CVR had the privilege of honouring the remarkable women who enrich our lives with their wisdom, warmth, and unconditional love—our cherished grandmothers.

The “Gorgeous Grandmas” Ramp Walk was a heartfelt celebration of elegance, resilience, and generational love. With grace in their stride and pride in their eyes, our grandmothers lit up the stage, walking hand-in-hand with their grandchildren in a moment that was both touching and unforgettable.

Each introduction was met with thunderous applause, every step a testament to the enduring bonds between generations. The atmosphere was filled with joy, reverence, and admiration, reminding all present of the deep roots from which we draw strength and identity.

More than just a ramp walk, the event served as a powerful reminder to the younger generation—to honour, appreciate, and learn from the invaluable legacies embodied by their grandmothers. It was truly a celebration of life, love, and lineage.

Youth skills day

The NCFE family came together to celebrate World Youth Skills Day with great enthusiasm and creativity. The event was designed to highlight the importance of practical skills, innovation, and teamwork among students, while also encouraging them to explore their talents beyond textbooks.

Students of Grades 6 and 7 actively participated in ‘Best out of Waste’ activities. With imagination and dedication, they transformed discarded items into useful and decorative products. From pen stands made of cardboard tubes to flower vases crafted from plastic bottles, every piece showcased the value of recycling and the importance of sustainable living. The activity not only boosted their creativity but also emphasized environmental awareness.

Meanwhile, the talented Grade 8 students presented informative and interactive pavilions on real-life themes such as Food, Clothing, First Aid, etc. Each pavilion was thoughtfully designed, combining research with attractive displays. The Food pavilion focused on healthy eating habits and balanced diets, the Clothing pavilion traced the journey of fabrics and the significance of sustainable fashion, while the First Aid pavilion gave demonstrations on handling minor injuries and emergencies. Their presentations reflected confidence, teamwork, and awareness of practical life skills.

The celebration successfully brought together learning, creativity, and life-oriented skills. It was a day of inspiration that encouraged every student to recognize the value of skill development and the power of using knowledge in meaningful ways.

Independence Day Celebrations

As the tricolour fluttered in the August breeze, the atmosphere was filled with pride, glory, and honour as the students of NCFE gathered to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. The days leading up to this grand occasion were marked by tireless preparations—band practices with the beats of the drum echoing through the school corridors, students rehearsing their dance and music performances, and teachers offering their unwavering guidance and support.

On the morning of 15th August 2025, the celebration commenced with the marching band taking the lead. Their flawless coordination reflected discipline and dedication as they paved the way for the entry of our dignitaries. This was followed by a spirited march past, commanded by the school council. As the national flag was hoisted and the anthem sung, every head was held high in solemn tribute to those who made this freedom possible.

The day was further highlighted by a vibrant character parade by the Pre-Primary students, who dressed as national heroes and spoke about the revolutionaries who shaped—and continue to shape—the nation’s progress. This segment was especially cherished by the parents. The celebration also featured a soulful musical tribute by the school choir and graceful dance performances that beautifully showcased the diverse culture of our country. A special highlight was the yoga dance, where the performers, with remarkable poise and flexibility, left the audience truly speechless.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, yet the atmosphere remained adorned with the spirit of joy, pride, and hope. Though the day drew to a close, the essence of freedom, liberty, and patriotism continues to live on in our hearts.

Doctors’ Day Celebration

To honour the dedication and care of doctors, Grades 1 and 2 celebrated

Doctors’ Day on July 1, 2025 with great enthusiasm and gratitude.

As part of the celebration, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Supriya BM (BHMS, MSc DFSM), a Consulting Homeopath and Diet & Nutrition Advisor. She conducted a wonderful and interactive session with the children, explaining the difference between healthy and unhealthy food habits. Through an engaging PowerPoint presentation, she helped students understand how choosing the right food can help us grow stronger and stay away from illnesses.

The session was lively and fun-filled, as students eagerly answered questions, shared their thoughts, and learned about everyday foods that are good or not-so-good for their health

REVERIE - ALUMNI MEET

NCFE CVR hosted its first ever alumni meet, Reverie, on 23rd August 2025, bringing together past students for an evening filled with memories, laughter, and celebration. With the theme Met Gala Glam setting the tone, the alumni stepped into the venue in dazzling ensembles, the sparkle and excitement carrying them right back to their school days.

The evening began with a warm welcome message, followed by heartfelt words from teachers who were overjoyed to reconnect with their former students. Soon, the atmosphere grew vibrant as nostalgia filled the air. Current NCFE students showcased their talent through a graceful dance performance and an electrifying beatbox act, both of which left the audience enthralled.

The highlight of the evening came when alumni themselves took to the stage, sharing humorous anecdotes and secrets from their school days, much to the amusement of their teachers. A light-hearted quiz kept everyone engaged, with chocolates awarded to the winners. In the end, the 2020 batch claimed victory, with the 2021 batch as close runner-ups.

Adding to the charm, the NCFE choir, accompanied by a live student band, performed a medley of English and Hindi classics, evoking waves of nostalgia. The evening concluded with group photographs of the alumni alongside their teachers, followed by a delightful dinner. As a thoughtful gesture, each alumni carried home a plant; a living memory of the occasion.

The evening stood as a reminder that while time may move on, the spirit of the NCFE family remains timeless. With promises of more such gatherings in the future, Reverie marked the beginning of a cherished tradition.

BOOK CLUB - NOVELLA

A Board That Cast a Spell

This month, Novella’s creative spirits set our softboard alight with the shimmering theme of Magical Realism. Swirling colours, intricate illustrations, and thought-provoking quotes transformed an ordinary corner into a portal of wonder. During the recent Parent-Teacher Meeting, the display became an unmissable stop — drawing in parents, students, and even members of the Board of Management. Conversations lingered around the board as onlookers admired the way fantasy and reality danced together on paper. The artistic magic behind this creation was brought to life by our exceptionally talented Head Designers, Dakshana B (12D) and Anumegha Roy (12D), whose vision and skill turned an idea into an enchanting masterpiece.

An August Gathering to Remember

On Wednesday, 6th August, Novella’s first AHM meeting of the year brought together an eager crowd of book lovers. The air buzzed with anticipation as students streamed in, ready for an open-house discussion unlike any other. This month’s focus was our theme, Magical Realism, explored through vivid conversations, spirited interpretations, and personal reflections. The Book of the Month, A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass, added a rich layer to the discussion, inviting members to reflect on the beauty of seeing the world through different perspectives. Ideas flowed freely, laughter punctuated debates, and the shared love for stories knitted everyone together in a warm, energetic camaraderie. It was more than a meeting — it was a celebration of voices, perspectives, and the joy of simply talking about books. By the end, the room felt less like a gathering and more like the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Novella’s journey.
